My Response to Life of Pi. I have read the book Life of Pi written by Yann Martel is the story of a young boy who is stranded in the middle of the ocean on a lifeboat accompanied only by a tiger whom he forms a strong connection with. This young boys name is Piscine Molitor Patel also known as Pi as in the edible pie or mathematical term.
In an Authors Note an anonymous author figure explains that he traveled from his home in Canada to India because he was feeling restless. There while sipping coffee in a café in the town of Pondicherry he met an elderly man named Francis Adirubasamy who offered to tell him a story fantastic enough to give him faith in God. Finally the story of what happened after the boat sank determines the meaning of Pis entire life.
